Family Hike to Echo Meadow

Cole and I decided to go on a family hike at the beginning of October, when the fall leaves were just changing color! We hiked up to Echo Meadow, which is up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It is about a 30 minute hike up to a cute, little lake. Once we reached the lake we took a little rest and fed the ducks. We had the best time! Suzy loves being outside and was so happy the whole time,
looking around at everything! It was a great family day!

What a doll!
On the hike back down, Suzy was really enjoying the camel back!
This might have made me like hiking a little bit more! ;)

Our Sweet Suzy

I snapped this cute picture one day before church! Suzy is such a joy, we love her so much! We are so lucky to have such a sweet and beautiful daughter!

Caught Red-Footed...??

What a nut!!!

Yay! Real Food!

We started Suzy on solid food the day after we got back from New York! We could tell that she was ready because she kept eyeing all of the food that Cole and I were eating and opening her mouth, hoping that we would give her some! It took her a while to figure out what she was supposed to do, but after a couple of days she was eating like an old pro! Take a look at the pictures below to see for yourself!

So excited!!

I'm ready!

Yum!

New York City

We had the opportunity to go to New York City at the beginning of August! My little sister Brecke was taking a summer intensive ballet class there so we got to go out to be with her for a week! We had so much fun! Every day we would drop Brecke off at her ballet studio and then go out and explore the city.  Although, I have been to New York City many times, there is still so many things that I have never done. We went to many museums which included the MoMa, the Met, and the Natural History Museum.  We loved all three of them.  We took a walk through Central Park and took Suzy to the Central Park Zoo! She may have been a little young for it but Cole and I sure enjoyed it! The polar bear that is there is so entertaining! We sat and watched him swim and push off the glass for a good 15 minutes! One day we ventured downtown to see Battery Park, South Street Seaport, the Brooklyn Bridge, the new World Trade Center, Wall Street, China Town and Little Italy.  Phew, that was a long day and we were so tired by the time we got back to the hotel! We walked 5th Ave. and went to Rockefeller Center, stopped by St. Patrick's Cathedral, and went shopping in FAO Schwartz  We also walked to Grand Central Station, which is so beautiful! I had the opportunity to go see Sister Act with Brecke one night which was such a blast! We laughed through the whole thing! Then Cole and I got to go on a little date to go see Newsies, while Brecke stayed back and watched Suzy for us one night! We had such a great trip and can't wait to go back to visit Brecke (who is now living there) again sometime soon!

We went to the MoMa and saw so many beautiful pieces of art. Here is Suzy and I in front of Monet's Water Lillies .
We took Suzy to FAO Schwartz! She loved looking around and all of the toys! She especially loved this giant pink dog!
What a cutie bug!
We got Suzy this cute little stuffed elephant! She loves to hold it and munch on its ear!

We went to church on Sunday, which is in the beautiful NYC temple

We had the best time in NYC! We love that city and can't wait to go back!

Cancun, Mexico

We had the opportunity to go to Cancun with the Robinson clan for a fun family vacation in July! We were a little nervous for the flight since we would be traveling for the first time with a baby and she was only 4 months old.  She ended up doing great and we were so proud of her!  Although, Cole and I were so exhausted by the time we actually got there!  Flying with a baby is so stressful! Also, to add to the stress the airlines lost mine and Cole's bag! Luckily, Suzy's suitcase made it or we would have been in a real bind. The good news is that they found our luggage and delivered it the next day! Phew! It ended up being worth the hassle though because our trip was amazing!

Suzy's FIRST airplane ride

We stayed in the most fabulous beach house I have ever seen!  I seriously felt like I was a celebrity everyday. We all had our own master suite which included a king size bed, amazing bathrooms and our own personal balcony. The house had a private tennis court, private pool (which walked out to our own private little section of beach), and two mini golf putting greens. It was so much fun! Another amazing part of the house we stayed in was that it included our own private chef that would cook breakfast and dinner for us everyday. We feasted on fabulous authentic Mexican food all week.  I am so lucky to get to travel with the Robinson family!  They sure know how to travel in style! My mother-in-law Shannon is a travel agent and she always knows the best places to travel and stay.

Our week consisted of lots of  R and R, with a lot of playing as well!  It was the perfect mix of fun/relaxation!
Beautiful view of the house at night
Beautiful pool

Private tennis court- so fun!
Uncle Jesse and Suzy relaxing in the hammock by the pool, don't they look so comfy!
Suzy hanging out in the hammock. What a cutie!
As you can tell, Suzy really loved swinging in the hammock! This was mine and Suzy's daily ritual...napping by the pool!
Gorgeous ocean view
Cole and I went on a little day trip with the siblings to Chichen Itza, while Grandma Shannon and Grandpa Brent stayed back and watched the babies! We had a great time!
After Chichen Itza we stopped off at this amazing Cenote, which is a natural, fresh water river that is deep down in a cave like hole.  It was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful! The water was cold, but felt so nice. There was a platform that you could jump off of into the water! We had a blast!
